Twinkling through the window Gleaming from the tree Ornaments and tinsel Candy canes and LED's Flashing from the rooftops Dazzling bursts of light Radiating wonderment Across the winter night A caring hearts reflection In every bulb's bright glow Blessings for the light of love Let joy and mercy flow Send Christmas into the universe Send Christmas into the universe Helping out a neighbor By shoveling some snow Baking cakes and cookies For people that you know Gleeful happy children Sparkles in their eyes Listening to enchanted tales Of reindeer in the skies Let them know the world can be A blissful paradise When everyone can learn to be Honest, fair and nice Send Christmas into the universe Send Christmas into the universe

There Beneath a shining star so very far away Rests a world Itself so far, so very far away And there On that tiny world A tiny person thinks of bigger things For lo In the crisp of night Lo In the lunar light Aglow And taking flight a cheerful chorus rings But nay Heard above the bells A boom Ripples to dispel The fantasy we tell ourselves arrives on Christmas day And what will become of Christmas When everything is through When we've lost the Golden Rule Is there nothing we can do? What will become of Christmas When everything is through When we've lost the Golden Rule What will happen to Christmas? Long Is the season change when slower winds prevail And gone The seductive pull of the midnight zephyr's tail So wrong To have undermined The ancient forces keeping all alive. But soft Through the din of years Soft Though a pool of tears Aloft In songs of love a peace begins to thrive Until, In the fear of doom A chill Swallows whole the moon And wills That the world descend so very far away And what will become of Christmas When everything is through When we've lost the Golden Rule Is there nothing we can do? What will become of Christmas When everything is through When we've lost the Golden Rule What will happen to Christmas? For the glory Of Redemption Awaits ever attainable In the knowing Of possibilities And the story Of the many Who strived must survive To find peace And continue to exist right There On a floating speck in a boundless galaxy Where Near a shining star a tiny planet breathes So faint The precious glow of life Adapts itself to many things And lo In the crisp of night Lo In the lunar light Aglow And taking flight a cheerful chorus rings Until, In the fear of doom A chill Swallows whole the moon And wills That the world descend so very far away And what will become of Christmas When everything is through When we've lost the Golden Rule Is there nothing we can do? What will become of Christmas When everything is through When we've lost the Golden Rule What will happen to Christmas?

about

"What will become of Christmas?" That is the question posed by Eban Schletter’s Cosmic Christmas, a concept album originally released in 2009. It was also performed as a live multi-media show in the Glendale Community College's 4k planetarium. In this yuletide odyssey, veterans of Eban Schletter's Witching Hour contribute performances of a storyline worthy of The Twilight Zone: a drifting military satellite encounters a mysterious series of signals, forcing the on-board computer to question all it was created to do.

In all, it is a sonic feast and a fun, while poetic, meditation on what Christmas means in light of the direction our world seems to be heading.
