Originally released in 2003, Hollywood Free-For-All was my fourth album. After two instrumental releases, I wanted to return to songwriting and follow up Three Payments with something not quite so rough (i.e. sober). A lot had changed by then: I had gone from being a broke, lonesome, directionless person, to a married man with the beginnings of a career in television music. This was my attempt to process where I had been, what I'd left behind, and a world that still seemed chaotic - with the start of the Iraq War among other things.
